ABOUT US

The Lagom Music Society is a non-profit organization based in North America, founded and led by Kelly Lin, a pianist, conductor, and orchestra leader with a deep passion for music and cultural diversity. Having received music education from a young age, Lin recognized the gap in recognition for exceptional composers and musicians, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds. This insight drove her to establish the Society with the aim of offering a platform for diverse musical voices and creating opportunities for people to engage with music in meaningful ways. Through our work in both music production and orchestral performance, we seek to enrich the cultural fabric of our community by celebrating music from all eras and cultures.

Our vision is to create a dynamic, inclusive musical community that embraces diversity and promotes music of all kinds. We believe in the power of music to connect people across cultures and experiences. The Lagom Music Society envisions a future where young musicians are empowered to explore and develop their unique talents, contributing to a vibrant, multifaceted cultural landscape. We aim to foster an environment where musical expression is free from discrimination, with a particular focus on supporting gender equality and inclusivity for all.

Vision

Our goal is to revitalize orchestral music and nurture the next generation of musicians by providing them with opportunities to grow, perform, and create. We are committed to promoting the work of local young musicians and composers, while also introducing audiences to a broad range of musical styles, from classic to contemporary, and from traditional to experimental. By combining musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds, we aim to create unique works that reflect the richness of the global musical landscape. Through our programs, we also strive to create more job opportunities for musicians, supporting both their artistic development and their careers.
